No BJP, NDA government after polls: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Patna, May 15 (IANS): Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday said that neither the BJP nor the NDA it leads will be able to form a government after the Lok Sabha elections.

On the other hand, a non-BJP, non-NDA government would be formed, he told the media.

Azad said that Narendra Modi would not become the Prime Minister for a second time.

"The elections are in the last phase. I can say that neither a BJP nor a NDA government will be formed. It is my assessment after visiting all over the country," he said.

The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said the BJP would be reduced to 125 seats in the Lok Sabha but he refused to say how many the Congress was likely to win.

Without naming Congress President Rahul Gandhi, he said it would be better that after the elections a consensus should emerge that the government should be led by a Congress leader.

First let this useless fellow see how much seat his party wins? I am sure they won't cross figures and they can have moral victory as their strength will be 50%more than last year and NDA increase in strength will be only 10% over last year

Actually we cannot hazard a guess. In the absence of reliable feed back one can only guess even if BJP comes to power Modi will have a difficult time if he becomes Prime Minister. If he fails to get a working majority of his own in BJP, RSS may change the PM candidate in which case there will be an utter chaos in BJP. A secular coalition govt is a likelihood with a ghatbandhan leader becoming Prime Minister. But there will be a lot of political changes in the country with a new govt.
