Army soldier injured in blast near LoC


Jammu, May 16 (IANS): An Army soldier was injured on Wednesday in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, defence sources said.

Sources said during routine patrolling in Mendhar sector of Poonch district, a soldier identified as sepoy Shivling Appa accidentally stepped on a landline near the LoC.

"The soldier sustained injuries in the explosion. He has been shifted to Northern Command Hospital in Udhampur for treatment," a source said.
