Man in Raipur traps more than 30 women in love; blackmails, rapes them

Raipur, May 18: A man in Raipur is accused of raping more than 30 women and young girls after trapping them in love and blackmailing them. The incidents have come to light in Bhilai, Durg district, Chhattisgarh.

More than 30 women from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have lodged police complaints against him. The accused is identified as Gagan Deep alias Richy. He used to trap young girls and women in his love net and rape them. He also used to record video of the act and later blackmail them for money.

 

His victims have complained to the home minister, police and women’s commission. Richy is a resident of Vaishali nagar, Bhilai. He used to act as if in love with young girls from Bhilai, Raipur, Jagadalpur, Jodhpur, Indore and nearby places saying that he will get married to them and develop physical relationship with them. He used to keep their private photos and videos and later harass them for money.

 One of his victims, a woman from Bhilai said that she came to know Richy two years ago. “Both of us used to speak over phone. He came to our house in Raipur one day. There was nobody else at home and he raped me. He has later telephoned me and demanded Rs two lacs threatening that he will show my private photos to my husband if the amount is not paid.”

A woman from Vaishali Nagar had also complained that Richy is blackmailing her for money. “Though I changed my mobile phone number, his phones and harassment have not stopped,” she stated. The Police have registered a case of rape, assault and blackmail against him and are questioning him.
