BJP library gets Quran after PM's appeal to win over minorities

Dehradun, May 29 (IANS): Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to his party to win the trust of minorities, Quran - the holy book of Muslims - has arrived at the library of the BJP's Uttarakhand headquarters here.

"I kept two copies of the Quran -- in English and Hindi -- along with the other holy books such as the Geeta and the Bible on Monday," said Shadab Shams, co-media in-charge of the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here.

Shams appealed to people of all communities to read the books in order to clear any misunderstanding about Islam.

State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Ajay Bhatt welcomed the gesture.

The library was inaugurated by BJP President Amit Shah a year ago.

    This is a challenge to Modi. If Modi want to be inclusive he must address this issue on national television CONDEMNING COMMUNALISM and ideology after swearing in as PM of secular nation. Then only one can believe him. Otherwise all this gestures are fake to fool the minorities just like how he did fooling majority.

    Initially BJP was never against minorities. Vajpayee invited all communities to join the party when it was formed in 1980. When Babri masjid issue was raised in the late 1980’s Congress branded BJP as an anti-minorities communal party, instilling fear in the minds of the people that minorities will not be safe under BJP. Congress started appeasing minorities to maintain their vote bank claiming it to be a truly secular party. But during recent election campaigns we have heard Congress politicians speaking more about caste and religion than BJP.

    Modi’s 5 year rule has already won over minority’s. He has been the main architect of 45 lynching cases during his tenure. Free hand to cow vigilante’s and ticket to terrorists like Sadhvi is definitely short in arm .
    After returning to power 3 new incidents of atrocities against Muslims have already taken place .. No wonder hindutva is winning.

    Firstly to all who say he is 'appeasing' . Modi does not need to appease anyone or minorities. The 2 LS election results where his party won by a overwhelming majority reflects this. On the other hand minorities have appreciated and supported Modi . Its just an initiative. S o we should welcome it.

    If Modi is really serious about his new found love for the minorities, I would welcome it. Probably, he wants to prove the Time magazine wrong. Whatever it is, if he is turning over a new leaf, that would be a shot in the arm for peace in this country. A good PM is one who is just and fair to all communities.

    These are all dramas by the balatkari party, which heart to heart is against the minorities.

    In the last term they won the Muslim women due to the law on triple talaaq, which I feel is definitely good. But they should control the general hatred towards muslims in the society, especiall in MP, UP, Rajasthan and Delhi

    Beef, if needs to be banned, should be banned throughout India. BJP ruled states themselves are selling and they want to create havoc in other states. Yeh Kidar ka insaaf hai bhai?

    While looking good leadership of modiji...muslims themselves will stop killing cattles. After five years muslims themselves will give protection to modiji from harm by who are following western idealogy. Ek haath mein quraan...Ek haath mein laptop. By 2024 bjp will gain 450 seats. We dont care people like you. Not in list.

    Along with Holy Quaran also place Hadith in library. Let all comes to know how all religions are inter-connect with one another. After all Sanatan Dharam is mother of all languages.
