Udupi: Vote in Large Numbers, Be Model to Entire State – BJP Minister

Udupi, Apr 28: "In the first phase of Lok Sabha election in the state, the voting percentage had been very low. This situation should not repeat itself in the second phase. People of Udupi district should come out and vote in large numbers and become a model for the entire state," pleaded law, justice and parliamentary affairs minister and BJP state spokesperson Suresh Kumar.
He was addressing the concluding meeting of the party's publicity campaign organized here on Monday April 27.
In his address, BJP district president Kota Srinivas Poojary said, the BJP has been drawing good response everywhere in Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency and expressed the confidence that the party candidate Sadanand Gowda will win with a margin of over a lac of votes. He criticized Jayaprakash Hegde, Congress candidate, for demanding for the handing over Padmapriya death case to CBI and demanded that the case pertaining to the murder of Rajaram Servegar that occurred when Hegde was a minister, be handed over to the CBI.
BJP candidate Sadanand Gowda said, constituent parties of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) have been falling apart one by one and the Congress Party is being left to fend for itself all alone. This party can never muster a majority. NDA is the only alliance which can provide able and competent rule, he asserted.
Minister Dr V S Acharya, legislators Raghupati Bhat, Mukhyamantri Chandru, Lalaji Mendon, municipal president Dinkar shetty, zilla panchayat former president B N Shankar Poojary, Mattar Ratnakar Hegde, Sudhakar Shetty, Yashpal Suvarna, Mahesh Thakur, Kiran Kumar, Udaykumar Shetty Manjula Nayak, Andar Deviprasad Shetty, small screen actress Madhushree and others were present. BJP town unit president Raghavendra Kini presented the programme.
