Sultanpur (UP), Jun 3: Maneka Gandhi, former Union minister and MP of Sultanpur, visited Sultanpur for the first time after the Lok Sabha elections on Sunday, June 2. On media’s questions over why she was not given a Cabinet berth, she said that the people of her constituency will explain the reason for the same.

According to media reports, she said that a person who wins with a big margin and is a parliamentarian for a long time, is made the Protem Speaker, and she is one of them. Gandhi is likely to be appointed as the Protem Speaker, if sources are to be believed.

Evading a direct reply over questions of why she was not offered a ministerial berth this time, she said, “You can get the answer from the people of Sultanpur.” Maneka did not answer the scribes and bid them bye after they asked why her son Varun Gandhi was not being made a minister.
