Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Jun 3: In a tragic incident a family of four entered a suicide pact to kill themselves owing to financial troubles. The father forcefully hanged his 12-year-old son, while his teenage daughter filmed the act. He later convinced his wife to commit suicide on Sunday, June 2.

Police have arrested 43-year-old Suresh Babu, a sales executive for murder and abetment to suicide.

The family resided in Vibhutinagar, They decided to end their lives as they owed Rs 5 lac to depositors. Five women had come asking for the money on Saturday night after which the family decided the extreme step was the only way out.

Geetha and Varun

The 3 minute, 47 second video shot by Suresh’s daughter is disturbing. It shows Suresh forcefully hanging his son Varun from the ceiling while his wife Geetha and the daughter cry and move around.

The daughter is heard pleading in Marathi to leave her brother alone. The video ends abruptly when Geetha snatches the phone from her daughter’s hand.

Later, Geetha who works as a house help, hanged herself to the same ceiling fan. When it was the turn of the daughter, she begged her father to let her live and convinced him from killing himself.

On Monday morning, Suresh told his neighbours and the police that his wife killed their son and committed suicide. However, during investigation the police came across the video and found it was a suicide pact that had failed.

Abdul Wahad, DCP Whitefield told media that Suresh confessed that his daughter stopped him when he attempted suicide.

This is the problem with not understanding the teaching of religion, we all got busy with schools, colleges, carrier and business.

The valuable teachings of religions basics is missed, and such evil acts are being done. Really feeling sad for this stupid evil act.

Government is also equally responsible, there should be law and process to bail out people in distress. there are other ways to handle stress and manage problems.

If they owe money , of 5 lakhs , if they don't pay no onr going to execute them . Just take more time or day i dont have money now , worse scenario is they would be arrested for defaulting dues . But again that would be some days in jail and much much better than committing suicide .

Jossey S.Mumbai, world is not going to end but people are ending themselves, disturbing, destroying everything ,themselves.First they are trying to be like others, live above their income, and last when it is too much kill themselves or try to runaway ,.Here what father has done ,is not tolerable.Which father would kill his own son forcefully?

In normal fall, would kill himself instead of child/ren.Here he tried to kill whole family.First took loan which he couldnt pay, later burden was too much, offered his wife and a elder son.No blood in his heart and no feelings.why didnt he kill himself first?Poor boy was a opfer to fathers sins.height of his deeds is putting fault on wife.may the souls of woman and son may rest in peace.when one considers ,I think father didnt want to suecide at all.only family members?Anyhting behind his plan?Any other secret ?Punish him .
