Bengaluru: Siddaramaiah condemns BJP for not choosing Dalit as minister

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Jun 6: Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah and the Karnataka BJP entered a twitter war, on issues regarding Dalits.

It all began with Siddaramaiah praising the Congress government for giving opportunities to Dalit leaders and introducing schemes that ensure that the Dalit community is uplifted.

He then condemned the BJP for not including at least one Dalit MP in the union cabinet, even though 5 Dalit MPs won from the state. He then took a dig at the BJP that Dalits cannot be uplifted with just ‘big talks’.

Siddaramaiah's statement comes after D V Sadananda Gowda who belongs to Vokkaliga community was made chemicals and fertilizers minister. Suresh Angadi who is from Lingayat community was made minister of state for railways.

Prahlad Joshi and Nirmala Sitharaman, both Brahmins were made parliamentary affairs minister and finance minister respectively.

BJP was quick to hit back. Nicknaming the former CM as ‘Twitter Ramaiah,’ the BJP asked Siddaramaiah not to show his love for Dalits only on twitter. “People are aware on how you prevented G Parameshwara from being CM just because he was a Dalit. Why not make Mallikarjun Kharge, who has lost Lok Sabha polls as the chief minister if you really cared for the Dalits,” BJP tweeted.

can any one tell me what is secularism? castism? then which political party is communal?

dividing the people on caste/religionwise is not good for this country. Congress should stop this castism. Siddu only started caste/religion based schemes which created the gap between the people of this state.

...for vote bank purpose BJP already embraced Ambedkar..so many BJP banners with Ambedkar image prominently displayed..also lavish praises on Ambedkar on the eve of elections...vote bank ensured through Munde clan, Ramdas Athvale , Paswan tie ups...Kovind also appointed as President with eye on Dalith votes...remember, 2 sanitary workers feet were washed for publicity and dalith vote bank mileage...now BJP does not need any more Dalith for this purpose...BJP quite professional and to the point, they will not appease more than required

I feel sorry for the ex CM. These are the scapegoats that people must find in every state and region. The irony is, In Congress nobody has the guts to talk openly about the numerous failures of RaGA, his mom and the star campaigner Sister. We keep on blaming EVMs, or cry foul saying candidates won on Modi wave etc. Why cant the Cong win on RaGa wave?? Have you guys ever thought in these lines? Yes there is the problem.

Preaching and Pointing fingers at others is easy, but Practising and living the ideology is very difficult. If he was so much keen and sincere to Dalith's, why he accepted CM ship, he would have strongly suggested Shriman Kharge or Dr.Parameshwar's name. Then we would have agreed that he is really, sincerely think and practice Dalith upliftment. Let him not still fool us, we know their appeasement policy.

this party and this gentleman will die just murmering caste ...religion... minority.... vote bank... nothing else is needed to vanish this party. Always talks about caste... religion. why the hell he doesn't understand at least now that people of this country have rejected caste / religion governance... they need good and neutral governance. That's why Modi and BJP has given clear mandate , again this time , still stronger that last time... but these evil creatures will not understand... keep barking on religion / caste.. etc etc. Any ways, looks the few recent developments... including hard push for Sonia to be back as party chairman , retaining Rahul as party president... and still letting party leaders to speak same subject as mentioned above..... caste / religion / minority ... with all these developments it's clear that Modi will not have any issues to come back to power even in 2024.... Congress never wakes up I am sure...

    2.Minority Appeasemenr.
    3.Dole outs ....
There is no dignity involved in the above 3.
Congress has lost it ...trying its old age tricks.

One of the congress leader says BJP not choosing Lingayat, other says Vokkaliga, one more says not considering Muslims, Pappu says no women empowerment, Siddarama says not Dalits ....
Why is Congress bothered about BJP, infact their own party is in the verge diminishing and this plight is the result of playing caste politics and nepotism .....
BJP made a Dalit Ramnath Kovind, the president of India, they made Dr. Abdul Kalam sir, the president of India .... Congress have no morality to talk about Dalits and Muslims .... rather than considering them mere vote banks, what else did for their upliftment .....
Siddu stop playing caste politics .... work for the better future and democracy in the country ....

Siddanna, time to retire and take rest. You have overworked in politics. Karnataka & India will run by administratively efficient people and not based on religion, caste, creede etc., etc., Whoever is efficient and corrupt free should rule Karnataka and India no matter which party he belongs to. So stop your religion based political mind and stop instigating people against it.
    Jai Hind.
