Priyanka, Scindia to hold poll result review meets

New Delhi, Jun 10 (IANS): Congress general secretaries Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Jyotiraditya Scindia will meet party leaders on Tuesday to discuss the party's rout in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress, which won two Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh in 2014, was reduced to just one seat in the recent elections. Of the total 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state, the party could win just Rae Bareli, which is represented by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

A senior party leader told IANS: "Congress President Rahul Gandhi's sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who was made in-charge of 41 seats in eastern Uttar Pradesh, will arrive in Rae Bareli on Tuesday for two days to discuss the Lok Sabha election results."

"She will hold meetings at the Bhuyemau guest house with leaders from Amethi, from where her brother lost to BJP's Smriti Irani by a margin of 55,000 votes," said the leader.

A source close to Scindia said: "Scindia, who was made in-charge of 39 seats in western Uttar Pradesh, will meet the 10 Congress candidates, who lost in constituencies adjoining Delhi, on Tuesday."

On Friday, he will hold another round of meeting in Lucknow with 29 more party candidates who lost.

Scindia, who himself lost from his family stronghold of Guna in Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday held a meeting with party leaders and workers from his Lok Sabha constituency.

Why meeting.? There are 2 choices,. Quit OR change constituency . Next election Priyanka should contest from Kannur and Scindia from Malapuram . Only then victory can be guaranteed.

Nehru-Gandhi charm doesn't work in modern India. Their days are in past and they can wallow in past glory.i Rahul is another story. His sister Priyanka had charm, but it didn't work; may be her Vadra husband's infamy did her in.

The new BJP government is called EVM sarkar.
The Election Commission of India was refusing to explain the difference between votes polled and those counted, the ECI came out with a release, saying there was no wrongdoing and that such rise in numbers in some constituencies are routine. However, the same report also mentions numbers decreasing in quite a few constituencies. This is something that cannot logically happen. The ECI has not addressed this at all in its statement.
If we go through the website of the ECI it’s found that there is a big mismatch between the “votes polled” and “votes counted.” This is a huge discrepancy is witnessed in over 370 constituencies. For instance, in all the 48 Parliamentary constituencies in Maharashtra and 203 assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh, there is a mismatch in the votes polled and the votes counted.
Is it a coincidence or malfunction of the EVMs that seven contestants in the 2019 election have won their seats with the same margin of votes. Bhola Singh, Menaka Gandhi, Upender Narshigh, Harish Dividi, Satpal Singh, Sangh Mitra Murya, Kunwar Bhatender Singh have won by identical margins of 211820/ 140295.
On how out of the 120 Lok Sabha constituencies that went to polls from UP and Bihar, in as many as 119, thousands of votes in excess of ECI-generated figures were cast.? Does the report also highlight how the same ECI gave four different figures of polling percentage for a single seat?
The news websites had emailed the EC questions on the discrepancies in all 373 constituencies. An EC officer even contacted us saying that they will send a reply soon. By afternoon, on the same day, the ticker mentioning “final voter turnout” mysteriously disappeared from the EC’s website eciresults.nic.in.
    1. why did the EC upload votes polled data as final data for the first four phases?
    2. why did they remove the data?
    3. why is the EC silent about these discrepancies?
    4. Is EVMs malfunctioning?
    Congress should file a petition.

After being trashed to pulp such long narratives wont suffice. Its work that matters. Indians today do not go by looks or Sur name. They do not go by talks like 'nose having some significance' . What is required is pure constructive work. RaGA had to flee his home constituency to find a safe place . Smriti Irani visited the constituency every week despite being the losing candidate. Blaming EVMs will only result in fielding the same candidates again and losing again. Its better the Cong supporters pull up their leaders and question them. Or else Priyanka & Scindia will have to contest from some safer constituency in Kerala next time.

    Mr.Sukul Rao, Mangalore
Sir, Don't generalize me as Congress supporter. My views expressed on the fact from the Election Commission's own portal which you may not aware of it.
For your knowledge, there are 370 constituencies mismatch in the final result uploaded by the ECI. That was taken down when objections are raised. Will you believe your bank for a statement of account if it is uploaded as final and revoked later?
The question of EVM is not new. It is first raised by BJP president who went on writing book 'Democracy at risk'. Same EVM's which started working in the parties favor.
If developing nations who scrapped this EVM's for the ballot, India which import microchip from US and Japan how the integrity of the EVM's will not be questionable?

Actually what's the point now? UP was completely lost, save the 1 lakh victory of Sonia Maino in Rae Barelli, that too reduced by 1.5 Lakh votes, next time even she's in danger.
Less said about Scindia the better, he himself lost his Grandfather, Grand mothers personal fiefdom seat GUNA of last 60 years.
CONgress should come out of negative narratives & Modi bashing, RSS abusing and show people road-map to development, people are tired of hearing this. That was one big missing point in 2014 & 2019.
