Husband drowns wife for refusing sex with Tantrik

Aligarh, Jun 15 (IANS): A young woman was allegedly drowned in a river by her husband after she refused to have sex with a tantrik (occultist), police said on Saturday. The womans husband Manpal and the occultist Sant Durga Das have been nabbed by the police.

According to SSP Aligarh, Akash Kulhari, the incident took place on Thursday and the 32-year-old woman's teenage son was a witness to the crime. The son screamed for help when his father was drowning his mother. But the father warned the son that he would meet the same fate as his mother if he called for help.

The woman's brother Rajesh Kumar, in a complaint to the Dadon police station, said his panic-stricken sister had called him two days ago, urging him to intervene.

Initially, the matter appeared to have been resolved amicably but on Thursday the events took another twist when Manpal persuaded her wife to accompany him to a nearby river and pushed her into it.

After executing the plan, Manpal and the occultist, who has a criminal record, swam across the river, fleeing to neighbouring Badaun district.

The police have recovered the body of the woman and further investigations are underway.

This man may be emboldened from the similar case from Shivmoga in Karnataka in which one of BJP's leader's wife drowned in knee depth of water in his own residence backyard and last rites are done in haste to destroy all evidence.

If the Godman like RamRaheem and Asaram Bapu still enjoying the luxurious in jail without being prosecuted for scores of murderers in their ashrams who in turn extend the political support due to their mass followers, how the nation can give justice to this poor women?

The PM Modi government only wants 'Triple Talaq' issue. But never worry about Anti-superstitious law for scores of rationalist got killed fighting for the cause.

These are the same 'Tantrik' will become one day Chief Minister or Minister in the Cabinet.

Mera Bharat needs serious thinking on Anti-Superstitious law. If 'Digital India' can't create awareness then the nation is a bound to fail. The nation needs 'Moral Police' on such an issue.

Something impossible to believe and this happens in the ultra modern Era as some people still live in stone age. There are such babas or tantriks in all communities still exist only to exploit poor, illiterate and unsuspecting people. When we see things like this we feel that there should be anti superstition law should be implemented. however, in this case the real intention of drowning his wife has to be ascertained.
