Abu Dhabi, Jun 15: In a recent announcement on social media, Abu Dhabi Police informed the public that a fine of Dh 1,000 and six black points will be charged to those who throw trash from vehicles on the road.
The Abu Dhabi Police requested the public to cooperate in preserving the capital's environment by adhering to the traffic laws and regulations.
In the announcement the police said, "Disposal of waste from vehicles on a public road, whether by the driver or passengers, is a negative behaviour that affects significantly the environment and may cause traffic accidents," as reported in Khaleej Times.
While stressing on implementation of the law, the police said there will not be any negligence in implementing the law on any driver who throws waste from his/her vehicle. The police also added that the drivers who misbehave or violate the law will be monitored under traffic patrols and smart systems.
