Bhopal rape a bid to defame MP government: Minister

Bhopal, Jun 16 (IANS): Madhya Pradesh Public Relation Minister P.C. Sharma on Sunday linked the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl last week with a plot to defame the state government.

"The accused was staying in a rented house. The female house owner a man who helped her to find a tenant are associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Is it an attempt to defame the government? The police have been asked to probe into the case in a fair manner", Sharma said.

The minor, whose parents live in the Mandwa Basti under the Kamala Nagar police station area, was allegedly raped and killed by a man named Vishnu Prasad. He was later arrested from the Khandwa district.

    ‘Rape is rape, don’t politicize it. How can we say this many rapes happened in your government while so many rapes took place in the following government.’ This statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in London was in response to a number of recent rapes across India.
    This is the same Savarkar whose portrait was placed in parliament under the stewardship of the BJP and whom Modi referred to as ‘a true patriot.’ Savarkar’s call for rape as a political weapon still finds open resonance among communal fanatics.
    The BJP should remember Rape is Also a Weapon of Ideology, Savarkar Its Proponent.

    After the general election, BJP’s Unnao MP Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi alias Sakshi Maharaj met rape accused party MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar at the Sitapur district jail to “thank” him after the general election.

    Sengar, a four-time MLA, is lodged in the jail for allegedly raping a woman who had visited him for a job on June 4, 2017.

    The rape and murder of an eight-year-old nomadic girl in Jammu and another rape that was allegedly carried out by a legislator from his party, the BJP, in Uttar Pradesh have outraged people from across the political spectrum. Earlier, Modi had also given a statement saying that rape is a ‘social evil.’

    Almost everyone in India remembers the Delhi bus rape - known as the Nirbhaya case. But the recent incidents of rape of children's is a new pattern of BJP's politics. There is a similarity between the Nirbhaya case and girl child rape politics.
