Bangladesh elect to field against Windies

Taunton, Jun 17 (IANS): Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and elected to bowl against the West Indies in their World Cup tie at the Cooper Association County Ground on Monday.

Bangladesh have made one change to their playing XI. They have left out Mohammad Mithun and included Liton Das in their team. On the other hand, Windies have also made one change to their line-up by bringing in left-handed batter Darren Bravo in place of all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite.

"We would like to bowl first. There are some patces in the wicket and our batting has been good, we have been chasing well. We have been on and off, two days of break and have been practising continously for the last 4-5 days. Boys are well prepared. (Mohammad)Mithun is not playing. Liton Das comes in for him and hopefully he can play some shots. He is a top-order batter and we are backing him," said Mortaza after winning the toss.

Meanwhile, Holder said, "Probably an opportunity to put some runs on the board. We don't want to drop our intent and we want to be a little smarter and play well. One change for us, Carlos Brthwaite is out and Darren Bravo is in."

Playing XI: Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim(w), Liton Das, Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mehidy Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza(c), Mustafizur Rahman

West Indies: Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Darren Bravo, Shai Hope(w), Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder(c), Andre Russell, Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas, Shannon Gabriel
