Mangalore, May 12:
A criminal, who was involved with several criminal cases in the city and outside, named Panduranga Pai alias Pandu Pai, was found murdered near the Mangalore Junction  railway station in  Kankanady, on the morning of Tuesday, May 12.

Panduranga Pai is a resident of Konchady in the city. Because of several cases registered against him, the policemen had been looking out for him. As such, he had not been living in the city and was almost absconding since a few years.

He was  involved in a number of criminal  cases including those relating to  murder and Hafta cases. He was also  wanted by the Gujarat policemen in relation with a murder case and  by the Mumbai  police in connection with a Hafta case. Earlier, he was in Mumbai, where he worked in a  hotel and also got involved with criminal activities.

His body was found on Tuesday morning. It is suspected, he was done to death the previous night.  His killers murdered him by slitting his neck with a knife.

In the city, he was  involved with three murder cases and  also  had some cases pending against him in some of the police  stations  in Udupi  district. He also was imprisoned  for a few years in another case.

The policemen with the help of sniffer dogs, inspected the spot of murder immediately after they came to know of the incident. Prima facie, it looks as if he had been murdered elsewhere and that the body had been brought here in a vehicle and dropped at the above site

There is also a wound in the abdomen portion of the body,  which is also believed to have been caused by a knife that was used to kill him.

A white shirt was seen lying about 200 metres away from the spot where the body was found. It is said, the murderers threw this shirt there, while going back after abandoning Pai’s body.

The policemen who searched the pants and the shirt of Pai did not find anything in them. The body has since been shifted to the mortuary of Wenlock Hospital in the city.

It is said, that  Panduranga Pai had kept himself away  from criminal  activities since some time and had got involved with some other business.

Mangalore rural station policemen are involved with the investigation.

It is very sad that a fun loving kid turned into such a notorious criminal. We studied few years together and its very hard for me to believe that he turned a criminal. But as the adage goes,Paapi paapena hanyate.May his soul rest in peace and his parents who lived in turmoil all these years.God be with you Pandu.

Dear Manjunath Bhai It would have surely come if the name was not Pandu & surname was Not Pai. Any other community person would have got murdered like this there would have been huge cry as Concpiracy against the minorites by BD or SRS or even BJP Govt. By now our readers would have asked resignation of BSY or Dr. VSA. No offence meant by me to any community brothers but unfortunately thats the truth

As Susie Jackline,India said all the Criminals are left loose and only innocent people from muslim and christian comminuties are put behind bar and beaten up by the police for silly reason or no reason.. Whatever is happening in Mangalore is only after BJP came to power in karnataka. What will happen if they be in Power at the centre? we will have more terrorists.

One thing suprises me here is that " he was wanted by the police in many criminal cases, but he was out of the police clutches"???? why was it so difficult for our police people to catch this guy alive and arrest him??? Police people are know these day to catch the inocent and leave the criminals to roam free.
