The strategy of the BJP is to have an alliance with the regional party first to defeat the principle opposition in all state levels. Once the BJP consolidate the position it then encourages defection from the same party or else threatens them with the corruption charges forcing them to join and work for the party.

In West Bengal BJP first vowed Mukul Roy threatening to grill him in Sharadha Chit fund scam. He is considered to be the right-hand man of CM Mamta Banerjee and one of the best organized its members at the booth level. Who went on later help BJP winning half the Lok Sabha seats.

Similarly in Assam party used Congress strong man Hemant Biswa Sharma who is also involved in the big scam who instrument the Congress-mukth in entire North Western states once Congress is in consolidating state.

The regional parties including TDP, Trinamool, AIADMK, and Congress still not realized the fact which BJP has taken advantage of their own influential men and disseminated parties into non-existing.
