Army warns of not spreading fake video of imposter with army combat uniform


New Delhi, Jun 22 (IANS): The Indian Army has cautioned people not to believe an imposter who is seen in a video wearing Army combat uniform and spreading disinformation.

The Additional Director General PI of the Indian Army, through its twitter handle said, "Imposter wearing Indian Army combat uniform in video spreading disinformation".

'Be Cautious - Be Vigilant', the Army said.

"Soldiers of #IndianArmy are committed to uphold the core values of our Constitution and the rich history of courage, valour and sacrifice," the India Army added.

The Army also shared the photo of the fake video saying "Please do not spread this fake video of IMPOSTER".

Last year, During the Kerala floods, the Army had warned about an imposter wearing Army combat uniform in a video and spreading disinformation about rescue and relief efforts.

    The Indian Army has urged civilians to avoid wearing clothes which have the 'Army-pattern' on them. In a set of guidelines issued to the public to prevent terror attacks, it also asked shopkeepers to refrain from selling combat clothes to the public.

    The guidelines have been rolled out nearly a week after half a dozen terrorists managed to sneak their way through the border and attack the Air Force station in Pathankot. Seven lives of security personnel were lost in the attacks.

    Before the election Manoj Tewari BJP MP and Delhi President wearing Armed Forces uniform and seeking votes. BJP-Modi-Shah insulting and politicizing our jawans. And then giving lectures on patriotism.

    In another violation reported by the web news, Indian Army uniforms are being illegally sold for Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 in the border towns of Rajasthan. The shopkeepers are blatantly flouting the rules by openly selling the Army uniforms and accessories used by defense personnel without procuring any license.

    But the Indian Army should now there are many fake Twitter sight operated by BJP IT cell in the name of 'I am with Indian army', 'Indian army fan club', 'India support Indian army', 'Indian army fans', 'Indian army service before self','Indian army', 'Bhartiya Jawan' and so on spreading fake new and propaganda have more than 5 lakh followers.

    Perhaps this fake video may be originated from one of this social media fake accounts which Indian Army unaware of it.
    In no other democracy in the world, the Indian armed forces name, logo, combat uniform is so much misused than BJP's own IT cell who call them nationalist and praise Naturam Godse for killing Mahatma Gandhi.
    If the Indian army doesn't take any action then another Pathankot or Pulwama is inevitable.
