Jharkand, Jun 24: Another case of mob lynching has resulted in the death of a young man. On Sunday, a 22-year-old young man died after he was beaten up by locals.
Earlier this week, the deceased was subjected to a mob attack under the suspicion of theft. Once the torture ended he was handed over to the police. The man has been identified as Shams Tabrez.
This incident occurred in Saraikela Kharsawanand in Jharkand. Tabrez was beaten for over seven hours before he fainted and was surrendered to the police. A video which contained the unforgiving beating of Tabrez has been circulated widely on several social media platforms.
Tabrez was admitted to Sadar hospital on Sunday morning and was then referred to Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur. Later that day, Tabrez succumbed to his injuries.

The family of the deceased has alleged that the attack was communal and that Tabrez was made to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Jai Hanuman’.
A relative of deceased claimed that the family was even forbidden from visiting Tabrez in the hospital. Further, the act has been branded as communal because the victim had a Muslim name. Strict action against the people responsible has been demanded by the kin.
An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway according to police officials.
