Rs 50 lakh stolen from Gulmarg Gondola cash chest in J&K


Srinagar, Jun 24 (IANS): Cash amounting to Rs 50 lakh was stolen from the Gulmarg Gondola cable car project office at the famous ski resort of Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Cable car officials in Gulmarg said Rs 50 lakh was stolen from the cash chest on Sunday evening.

Police sources said an FIR has been registered in the matter and an investigation has been started.

The Gulmarg Gondola carries tourists and skiers to Afarwat Peak which is situated at a height of 4,390 metres above sea level.

    All a scam. Any business does the tally at the end of the day and deposits the cash in a bank. What was 50 Lakhs, which I believe was more than a months worth of business earnings doing in the cash till.
