Few days after marriage TMC's Nusrat Jahan attends parliament, takes oath

New Delhi, Jun 25: Bengali actress and newly-elected MP Nusrat Jahan, who got married with Kolkata-based businessman Nikhil Jain on June 19 took oath as a member of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, June 25. 

Dressed as a typical Bengali Bahu in a pink and white saree with ‘sindoor’ on forehead and wrists full of bangles the news TMC MP read out her oath in Bengali.

Before proceeding with her oath she greeted fellow lawmakers ‘As-salam alaykum, Namaskar’ and concluded it with ‘Jai Hind, Vande Mataram, Jai Bangla’.

The TMC lawmaker also touched the feet of Speaker Om Birla and sought his blessings. She was followed by her friend Mimi Chakraborty, who just like Nusrat, took the oath in Bengali.
