Indore, Jun 26: In a video tweeted by ANI, Akash Vijayvargiya, son of senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya is seen assualting a civic body official here with a cricket bat on Wednesday.
The dramatic scene shows Akash Vijayvargiya, who represents the assembly seat of Indore-3, along with his supporters, chasing and thrashing the official with a cricket bat in front of the public including police and media.
Akash and his supporters threatened a team of municipal corporation officers who were conducting an anti-encroachment drive in the Ganji compound area of Indore.
As per an ANI tweet, Akash told the officers 'You should leave within five minutes or else whatever happens after that will be your responsibility'.

Within few seconds the arguments turned into a full-fledged attack. Boasting his act, Akash Vijayavargiya told reporters 'In the BJP, we've been taught, pehle aavedan, phir nivedan aur phir danadan (first request and then attack)'.
“There were no women members in the team of civic body officials who went to the residential building during the anti-encroachment drive. When I saw the officers dragging women residents and verbally abusing, I told them to leave in ten minutes and said we could not tolerate it any longer. I am an elected representative. It is my responsibility to sort out issues between residents and authorities. I was making every effort, but the civic body officials indulged in dadagiri and did not listen to the people," Akash Vijayvargiya told reporters later, as per NDTV report.
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister, Bala Bachhan blamed BJP for the incident and said this is the real face and character of BJP. “They cannot control their public representative. This is their conspiracy. We will take strict action against them," he added.
