Mangaluru, Jun 29: Team Achilliu is the team of students working on electrical solar vehicle at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC). They have taken part in a number of National Level Electric Solar Vehicle Championships held throughout the year and have brought laurels to the college with their outstanding performances.
The team that was registered in September 2018 consists of 30 members with students from different departments of the college. The first ever electrical solar vehicle launched from SJEC has its own self fabricated solar panel and customized gearbox. The team with their design appeared in Future Solar Design Challenge (FSDC) from March 13 to 16, at Chitkara University, Punjab and ranked second in Karnataka and received all India rank 11.
The team has also participated in Electric Solar Vehicle Championship (ESVC), Asia’s largest solar car event. The team was successful in clearing the pre-virtual held at Chennai from October 12 to 14 and managed to secure the first rank in Karnataka and received all India rank four.
The team then participated in the main event of ESVC from March 25 to 31, at Chandigarh University, Punjab securing the third rank in Karnataka and all India rank 17. The team continues to strive for perfection with their hard work and dedication.
The management of St Joseph Engineering College is proud of the achievements of Team Achilliu and wished them the best in all their future endeavours.
