Dubai, Jul 1: Yaksha Dhruva Patla Foundation successfully celebrated Muhurtha Puja at the Banquet Hall of Fortune Plaza, Dubai on June 28.
As a part of the ceremony of muhurtha puja, the students of the Dubai Yakshagana Abhyasa Tharagathi performed and showed a small glimpse of ‘Mahishamardini Jagatjanani’, a mythological Yakshagana play. Also as a part of Sadhana Sambharama and Yaksharadhana 2019, all artistes performed ‘Gejjeseve’ and ‘Rangapravesha’ with great enthusiasm and promised for a bright programme ahead.
The rituals of the Muhuruta Puja were performed under the direction of Puthige Vasudeva Bhat and the puja and prayers were undertaken by Venkatesh Shastry Puthige, Lakshmikantha Bhat and Bhawanishankar Sharma. The bhajan seeva was beautifully rendered by Rajarajeshwari Bhajana troupe, Dubai under the leadership of Rajesh Kuthar.
Under the guidance of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation UAE’s president, Sarvotham Shetty, the programme commenced with the lighting of the lamps.
The secretary of Patla Foundation UAE, Vittal Shetty in his inauguration speech mentioned about the objective of foundation and vision of the renowned Bhagavatha r Patla Satish Shetty towards the foundation.
A well-known Yakshagana director of Dubai and the senior teacher of Yakshgana Abhyasa Tharagathi Dubai, Shekar D Shettigar Kinnigoli mentioned and provided further details about the mythological Yakshagana ‘Mahishamardini Jagatjanani’ to be played on October 18 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School,Dubai.
The treasurer of the foundation Dinesh Shetty Kottinja provided an overall view of the programme and the expenses that would be incurred.
Well known personalities Praveen Shetty Vakvadi, owner of Fortune Group of Hotels, Gunasheel Shetty, Ace Cranes Groups, Raghuram Shetty of India House Ajman, and pillars of various foundations in UAE, Manohar Thonse of Abu Dhabi Billawa Samaja, Prabhakar Suvarna, president of Billawa Family Dubai, Ravi Shettigar, president of Padmashali Sangha Dubai, Jayaram Rai, vice president of ICS Abu Dhabi, and businessmen Devesh Alva, Lakshmikantha Shetty, and Satish Ullal. President of Biruver Kudla UAE and senior himmela artiste Venkatesh Shastry spoke on the occasion and conveyed well wishes for the programme.
On the same occasion, Muhurtha puja was performed for the upcoming thalamadhale events to be held on September 6 at Shri Vasudeva Bhat’s residence for Ganesh Chathurthi celebration with the prasanga ‘Gadhayudha’ and on October 11 for the 10th anniversary celebration of the Padmashali community with Thalamadhale prasanga ‘Nala- Dhamayanthi’.
The group’s amateur bhagvatha Krishna Prasad, Surathkal and teacher of the troupe Sharath Kudla rendered with melodious songs from the forthcoming thalamadhale prasangas. The programme concluded with a thank you note from Rajesh Kuthar.
The yakshagana classes are held every Friday and on public holidays at the Bilva School, Dubai. All Yakshagana lovers are requested to take advantage of this free class being held and contribute towards the art of Yakshagana.
