5 attacked in Delhi by neighbours over property row


New Delhi, Jul 2 (IANS): Five persons were injured in Delhi as neighbours clashed over a property, a police officer said on Tuesday.

The incident took place late on Monday in Mitraon village of Najafgarh.

"We were informed at 11.45 p.m. about the altercation. Some shots were even fired," ACP Rajinder Singh said.

When the police team reached the spot, five people were found to have been injured.

Those injured were identified as Sudarshan, 41, and his brother Samar Singh, who had bullet injuries, and three of the family members Naveen, 21, Amarjeet, 25, and Satish, 51, who were all shifted to hospital, Singh said.

During the probe, it was found that a minor altercation and exchange of abuse over the construction of a wall had snowballed into a fist fight later even firearms were used, he added.

The first group was sitting in front of their home, when Bhoop Singh, Bijender, Jai Bhagwan and other came with sticks, bricks and firearms attacked them and escaped the spot, he said.

No evidence of any gang war found in the incident, The ACP said three police teams were handling the case.
