Mangaluru: Doctors’ Day celebrated at Carmel School

Mangaluru, Jul 3: Carmel School celebrated Doctors’ Day on July 1.

The programme began with an opening chorus, meaningful prayer service to thank God for all the doctors, followed by a welcome dance. Shruthi highlighted the significance of the day. Dr Rochelle Charmaine Tellis, associate professor, department of Microbiology, Yenopoya Medical College, and an alumna was the chief guest of the day. Dr Neha Haswani, assistant professor, department of Microbiology, Yenopoya Medical College, was also present.

Dr Rochelle explained with the PPT presentation the various types of food necessary for growth and development, their nutritional value, the effects of junk food, health hazards, and the growth period of every girl child and the reasonable care to be taken for healthy living.



Sonia compered the programme and Shilpa rendered the vote of thanks to the doctors and the nurses who put up a short exhibition on health and hygiene. Sr Rose Agnes, administrator and Sr Maria Gracy, vice principal were present for the programme.
