Mangaluru: Green Day celebration at St Mary’s PU College

Mangaluru Jul 3: Green Day celebration was held on Wednesday, June 3 at St Mary’s PU College, Falnir.

Ronald D’souza, former president of APMC, Cluster President of Akila Bharatha Janajagrathi Vedike was the chief guest on the occasion. He addressed the students stressing on the need to adopt green ways of life to energize and revitalize our lives to build a greener world. He encouraged each student to plant a tree so that enough oxygen is produced for our need. He also provided the students sufficient saplings to plant.



A short cultural programme was put by the students of the Eco Club in the form of skit and dance to create awareness to nurture nature. Sr Sahaya Mary, principal of the college welcomed the gathering. Umaiba anchored the programme on the occasion. Hajira Zulfath rendered the vote of thanks. After the programme the president, principal, staff and the students planted five fruit saplings in the college campus.
