Constable injured in truck accident


Gurugram, Jul 3 (IANS): A traffic constable of Gurugram Police was severely injured after a speeding truck collided with another truck and consequently rammed into a police vehicle at Rajiv Chowk early on Wednesday, a police official said.

Constable Jagbir Singh was deployed at Rajiv Chowk. Around 3 a.m., a speeding truck laden with goods, coming from the Delhi side approached Rajiv Chowk. At the same time another truck coming from Sohna side suddenly appeared on the road and collided with the first one.

Aman Yadav, ACP of Sadar zone, said the driver of the goods truck lost control of his vehicle after the collision and rammed a traffic police van and bike.

"Jagbir got trapped under the vehicle and was dragged for around 150 meters. When the driver noticed Jagbir he stopped the truck and fled from the spot," Yadav said.

Jagbir is being treated in Medanta hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
