East Bengal rope in Spanish defender Crespi


Kolkata, Jul 4 (IANS): I-League runners-up East Bengal on Wednesday roped in Spanish defender Marti Crespi who played for the Indian Super League side Delhi Dynamos last season.

Crespi was a member of Spanish U-19 and U-20 teams in 2006-07, and featured in 15 matches for the Delhi side in their eighth place finish last season in the ISL.

The 32-year-old defender started his professional career with Mallorca in 2006-07 before moving to second division outfits Granada, Xerez and Elche on loan.

He also played for Spanish top division club Racing Santander in 2013, before joining Sabadell FC where he made 54 appearances in Segunda B.
