KHDA reveals new ratings system for Universities in Dubai

Dubai, Jul 4: The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) on Wednesday revealed the ratings for seventeen branch campuses of international universities here. The Dubai Executive Council announced the new ratings system on Tuesday and said it aims to ensure international varsities in the emirate are up to required standards.

The universities are evaluated on eight quality indicators and ranked between 1 to 5 stars, depending on the number of points achieved in the evaluation, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.

As per the first ever ratings, three universities received five stars, eight universities achieved 4-star, three universities received 3-star, two achieved 2-star rating and one university achieved single star-rating.

The university of Manchester Worldwide, London Business School and Heriot-Watt University received 5-star ratings.

S P Jain School of Global Management, Amity University Dubai, Manipal University, Hult International Business School, City University of London, Birla Insitute of Technology, University of Bradford and Middlesex University Dubai received four star ratings.

SAE Institute, University of Exeter and Murdoch University Dubai received three stars. ESMOD French Fashion Institute and Islamic Azad University received two stars. The Pakistani university, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology, is the only institute that received a one star rating.
