Bahrain, May 23: More than 1000 people were present for the Konkani Kutam Cultural show presented by Konkan Singers Club on May 21, 2009 at Bishop Tirinanzi Auditorium next to Sacred Heart Church.  It was a free show which accomplished the goal of entertaining the Konkani lovers in Bahrain.

The cultural show started at 8 pm with the welcome song by the main singer Maxim Pereira followed by song “Managalore Sheher” by children from Konkani Kutam.

Maxim Pereira who is popularly known to his fans as “Baila Boom Maxi” enthralled the audience with spectacular performance.  Sharon Rego and Diany D’Souza, the young and promising singers shared the stage with Maxim to sing some of his popular numbers.  The well-known local singers Sydney Correa, Richard Pais, Rony Fernandes, Lavina Dantis, Muriel Gomes and Suzan joined Maxim Pereira to add attraction to the show.

Renowned Konkani artist from “Asal Kalakar” group Nellu Permannur who came from Mangalore for the show entertained the crowd with hilarious comedy.  The local group of artists consisting of Stany D’Souza, Alwyn Peres, Sujay Pinto, George Menezes, Alwyn Alva, Maxim, Jessy and Nirmala displayed their talents in comedy skits.

Renowned MC Ronald Olivera compered the programme

“Harmonics” provided the music.

The Chairman of Indian School John Abraham was the chief guest.  One of the leading Indian businessmen in Bahrain and prominent social activist Mohammed Hussain Maalim and assistant parish priest Fr Vincent D’Souza were the other guests.  The guests with Henry Almeida and John Mascarenhas honoured the main artists.  The VIth volume of Wilson Olivera’s CD was released by Richard Moras, convener of Konkani Kutam.
