Mangaluru: Week-long programme ‘Savayava’ at SAC from Jul 8

Mangaluru, Jul 5: St Aloysius College (Autonomous) has chosen ‘Savayava – 2019’ as the theme and focus of all the activities and events in the campus during this academic year. This theme is envisaged as a movement towards promoting organic lifestyle among the staff, students and the general public.

All the activities of the institution will be inspired and designed keeping this motto as the focus and the campus culture will demonstrate a movement towards spreading awareness regarding the advantages of adopting an organic life and culture.

A week long events and programmes with the title ‘Savayava Saptaha’ will be organized during the first semester which includes intensive workshops, seminars, lecture-demonstrations, cultural activities, public lectures, awareness programmes and cultural and literary competitions on the theme. A unique festive event called ‘Halli Habba’ (Rural Festival) and ‘Savayava Santhe’ (Organic Market) will be organized in the campus. It is planned to involve staff, students, parents and all the stakeholders in this endeavour of conscientizing the public on the need for organic lifestyle.

The grand inauguration and formal launching of the annual theme, Savayava -2019 will be held on July 8 at 3.15pm in the L F Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block. This would be an occasion to advance the idea of ‘Organic Life’ and its relevance in the modern context.

The year- long activities on ‘Savayava’ will be formally inaugurated by Rajesh Naik Uleppady, member of the Legislative Assembly, Bantwal constituency.

The event will be graced by one of the youngest innovator and inter-disciplinary researchers, Swasthik Padma who has received accolades at the national and international levels. He will deliver the keynote address on the theme during the event.

The launching ceremony will be presided over and blessed by Fr Dionysius Vaz, rector, St Aloysius Institutions.

Principal of the college Fr Dr Praveen Martis, will grace the occasion and explain the importance of the unique idea and its relevance.

The staff, students, parents and alumni will be a witness to the launch of this unique initiative.
