Budget would hike prices from market to kitchens: Mamata

Kolkata, Jul 6 (IANS): Coming down heavily on the Union Budget 2019, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said it was "completely visionless" and would result in price hikes.

#Budget2019 is completely visionless. The total vision is derailed," Banerjee said in multiple posts on her twitter handle.

"On top of it, not only have they imposed cess but also special additional excise duty on petrol and diesel leading to price increase by nearly Rs 2.50/litre for petrol and Rs 2.30/litre for diesel" she said.

"As a result, price hikes will hit from transport to market to kitchens... This is election prize!!" she added.

corruption must have gone down only in your dreams. I had been to two government departments and the picture is the same.
Regardless of any party in power, we are Indians and corrupted in mind and body.
It will take ages for us to really come out of this mentality.

The only "vision" the Gujju-bhai is that of USD5 trillion economy.

But economics numbers are not the same as accounting numbers.

If the economy grows in numbers, the inflation can through the roof. This is where economists are needed.

Unfortunately, there are only semi-educated persons managing the circus.

So, yes, there is nothing stopping the inflation making great progress!
