Mangaluru, Jul 6: Bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, made an official visit to Milagres Educational Institutions on the occasion of governing council meeting of CBSE, high school, PUC and degree sections to review their functioning and present his vision for these institutions.

Fr Joseph Lobo, the new vicar and correspondent of Milagres was also present. The bishop commended the growth that these institutions have achieved over the years and exhorted the members to take advantage of the strategic location of institutions in the heart of the city. He insisted that the institution’s main commitment is for the marginalized and deprived in the society. “It should be our concerted effort to transform the ordinary students into extra-ordinary the weak into stronger and the uninvolved into committed citizens of our nation,” he said.

Correspondent Fr Lobo reiterated what the bishop outlined and insisted on the greater involvement and commitment of the teachers.

The second part of the meeting was the exclusive governing council meeting of the degree section. Fr Michael Santhumayor, the principal highlighted the activities of the college with a special focus on NAAC preparation. It was unanimously decided that the degree college would go for NAAC accreditation at the earliest.

The bishop elicited from the member, whole hearted cooperation in moving the college to greater heights. The meeting ended with the vote of thanks by the correspondent.
