Mangaluru: EDUPATH lecture held at Expert PU College, Valachil

Mangaluru, Jul 6: As part of the ongoing career guidance programme ‘EDUPATH Lecture Series 2019-20’, Dr G G LaxmanPrabhu, professor and head of the department of Urology, KMC, Mangaluru conducted a session on the topic ‘The Desire to be a Doctor’ at the Cultural Centre of the Expert Pre-University College, Valachil.

Addressing the students Dr Laxman Prabhu said that one needs to plan explicitly finding one’s area of interest to get into the field of medicine. “This coveted field has a wide range of opportunities andthis is the profession that can serve from womb to tomb and beyond it,” he said. He emphasised the necessity of hard work to become a medical practitioner and also advised them to remain students till the retirement. He said that medical profession has new challenges everyday and one has to be ready for confronting diseases and saving lives.



Towards the end of the programme, there was an interactive session wherein the inquisitive queries of the students were illuminated by the guest speaker.

Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, honoured Dr G G Laxman Prabhu with a memento. Ria Rajeevan of II PUC welcomed the dignitaries, compeered the programme and rendered the vote of thanks.

Kavitha Prabhu, Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal, and Santhosh Prabhu, programme director, were present.
