Old grudge leads to murder, 3 held


New Delhi, Jul 6 (IANS): The Delhi Police have arrested three men who allegedly murdered a man against whom one of them had a grudge.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as Neketan (21), Mohit (20) and Raj Kumar (26), all residents of Rajbir Colony in east Delhi who murdered the deceased identified as Ravi (22).

"A year back, Ravi had allegedly attacked the brother of Neketan with a blade and snatched his phone and beaten him. Following which the accused developed a grudge against Ravi," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Jasmeet Singh.

On Thursday, Ravi met the accused persons in a drunken state and asked them to get liquor for him.

"But a quarrel broke out between then and they planned to kill him. Thereafter, Neketan, along with Mohit and Kumar, strangled Ravi and also hit him on the head with a heavy stone," said Singh.

After committing the crime, the accused fled from the spot and were arrested on Saturday afternoon.
