Liquor bottles found in Bihar pond

Muzaffarpur, Jul 9 (IANS): Even though there is a state-wide ban on liquor in Bihar, a large number of liquor bottles were found in a pond here on Tuesday.

"A large quantity of liquor bottles were hidden in a pond in Lakshminiya village. On a tip-off, a search was conducted with the help of fishermen and foreign liquor and beer cans were found," said Muzaffarpur Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar.

"The bottles were kept in a jute sack and tied with a rope. A search for the smuggler is on," he added.

A police official said that 85 bottles of foreign liquor and 23 beer cans were recovered from the pond.
