2 arrested for illegally procuring arms in Gurugram


Gurugram, Jul 10 (IANS): Gurugram Police on Tuesday arrested two youths for illegally procuring arms.

One of the accused Shashikant had earlier been booked for murder in 2017. The other accused Samir is also a history sheeter and recently looted a luxury vehicle in Qutubgarh under Chhawla police station area. Their third accomplice is at large.

Subhash Bokan, PRO of Gurugram Police, said that Shashikant had personal enmity over a property dispute in his native village Basai under sector 9 police station. In 2017, he involved in a murder over a property dispute and served a jail term. The court had recently granted him bail.

"During interrogation, Shashikant revealed said that he is facing a life threat from the kin of deceased he had murdered in 2017. After his release on bail, he procured a country-made pistol and two live rounds. His aide Samir having connection with illegal gun runners of Delhi obtained the gun for him," Bokan said.
