France, Jul 10: In strange turn of events, to save himself from paying the fee for carrying excess baggage, a Scottish father does the unthinkable.
On a return flight from France, John Irvine (46), from Bearsden near Glasgow, wore eight kilograms of luggage rather than paying the fee for the extra weight. EasyJet airline rules charge GBP 12 per kilo, which translates into Irvine shelling out GBP 96 for the luggage.
Irvine’s son, Josh began documenting his fathers feat when he started putting on layer after layer. The check-in staff looked at this moment in a state of total bewilderment at the Nice Airport, in France on a Friday night. The total number of layers totaled to 15, including shirts and jumpers until the luggage weight dropped down to the acceptable limit.

The video was posted on twitter by Josh and has since then gone viral, attracting a million views and gaining 28,000 likes. Apparently, when the check-in staff asked Irvine if he wished to pay extra he said, "Hon, watch this," he opened his suitcase and quickly wore about 15 jumpers to reduce the weight. Few of the security personnel thought he was trying to smuggle something beneath his clothes, but Irvine managed to go through without getting in trouble.
