Telangana, Jul 10: On suffering from severe hepatitis, an 18-year-old teenager, Gandham Kiran was admitted on June 26, at Suryapet hospital in Suryapet district. He was under care for a long time when he slipped into a coma for more than a week, following which he was declared brain dead by the doctors.
On learning of his miserable state, the family decided to prepare for his funeral. Kiran's mother, Saidamma, began mourning for her son when she found something extraordinary, she noticed tears flowing from the corner of her son's eyes.
Saidamma immediately called out to her relatives and the local medic who checked upon Kiran's health. The doctor was able to find a pulse and appreciated the family for not pulling the plug.

Kiran belongs to Pillalamarri village of Suryapet district in Telangana. In the light of new progress, he was admitted in Suryapet hospital again where he came to his senses and started talking.
On June 28, Kiran's condition had turned critical after which he slipped into coma on July 3. Considering no hopes for revival the doctors declared him brain dead and suggested the family to pull the pug. However, Saidamma, wanted her son to breathe his last at their home. Kiran, along with his ventilator was brought to the home, where everyone began preparing for his funeral. According to Saidamma, condolences were flowing in throughout the night.
Saidamma has another son, Satish, who is in his final year of college. Her husband, Upender, an agriculture labourer died in 2005 due to illness.
