Telangana, Jul 10: On suffering from severe hepatitis, an 18-year-old teenager, Gandham Kiran was admitted on June 26, at Suryapet hospital in Suryapet district. He was under care for a long time when he slipped into a coma for more than a week, following which he was declared brain dead by the doctors.

On learning of his miserable state, the family decided to prepare for his funeral. Kiran's mother, Saidamma, began mourning for her son when she found something extraordinary, she noticed tears flowing from the corner of her son's eyes.

Saidamma immediately called out to her relatives and the local medic who checked upon Kiran's health. The doctor was able to find a pulse and appreciated the family for not pulling the plug.

This appears to be a gross negligence on the docs who declared him brain dead as they have to follow a special protocol before making such a vital decision!!
