AAP MLA alleges he was shot at by criminal

New Delhi, Jul 10 (IANS): AAP legislator Prakash Jarwal alleged that an illegal liquor supplier fired three gunshots at him on Wednesday during the inaugural event of a water pipeline in Sangam Vihar in south Delhi. Police denied the claim.

Jarwal, who represents Deoli in the Delhi Assembly, said the incident occurred at 10 a.m. when Rajesh Sahashi fired three rounds at him and threatened him with dire consequences while he was inaugurating the pipeline on Sangam Vihar Bandh Road.

The police said they had not got any written complaint from the MLA.

Jarwal alleged that the accused was chasing him for some days and police had taken no action despite his requests for security.

"My life is in danger. I will formally lodge a complaint with the police," he told the media.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said: "We have not received any complaint. The firing was not reported in CCTV footage collected from the spot."
