Naveen gives 'mantras' for good governance in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jul 11 (IANS): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday advised his Council of Ministers to take feedback from the beneficiaries and make extensive tours to accelerate the work of good governance.

Chairing the Council meeting here, the Chief Minister gave five 'mantras' (tips) to the Ministers to improve the performance of their respective departments.

Patnaik suggested them to make extensive tour to get updates of their departments' work at grassroots.

"Embark on extensive tour. This will help you know about your department's service delivery at the grassroots level. Make surprise visits to the different offices and institutions under your department. This will expedite the delivery of government services meant for the people," said the Chief Minister.

He advised the ministers to meet the people, know their problems and gather direct feedback from the beneficiaries of various government services.

The Chief Minister also stressed on 5Ts -- transparency, technology, teamwork, transformation and time.

He asked the Ministers to focus on the 5Ts for change in the existing system.

He also advised them to lay emphasis on computerisation for transparency and efficiency in their respective departments.
