Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld.com in his congratulator message, said that it was Joseph's dream to set-up an office in Mangalore and today it is realized at the right time. Since Bajpe Airport is going through a major revolutionary transformation, the plan of opening of a cargo office near the airport has been perfect and well-timed. There was a time when people from the gulf retired, came back to Mangalore and then started to think about their future. Many have burnt their hands, without proper planning and lack of knowledge in the field they ventured into, but now the times have changed. Now, people think and plan in advance while they are still in the gulf and materialize their plans in Mangalore, which is a good trend, he said.
Joseph Mathias in his thanksgiving address, paid tributes to every individual who helped him in his successful journey. He felicitated people who have worked hard behind this project. Joseph's mother Mary Mathias, wife Flavia and daughter Tisha were also present.
Leslie Rego, popular compere, took charge of the event and coordinated the entire event, giving it his usual professional touch.
Merit Freight Systems Pvt Ltd will be handling air cargo as soon as air cargo facility begins in Mangalore airport, but until then, it will engage in sea freight services, as Merit Frieght is the only shipping company in Dubai that provides service in direct container shipment from Dubai to Mangalore.
