Mangaluru: Youth Red Cross Society Milagres College organises blood donation camp

Mangaluru, Jul 17: The Youth Red Cross society Milagres College, along with Indian Red Cross Society Blood Bank Dakshina Kannada conducted a blood donation camp at the college auditorium on July 16.

The programme was inaugurated by Fr Joseph Lobo, correspondent Milagres Institutions.

On the occasion, Fr Joseph Lobo explained the advantages which a human being will achieve by donating blood and also how it will help a person who might be unknown to the donor but is in need of blood.



The guest of honour Archibald Menezes said that the Indian Red Cross Society is an organisation which collects blood by conducting camps and the collected blood will be distributed to the poor people when they are in need of blood.

The principal of the Milagres Degree College Fr Michael Santhumayor on the occasion said that blood donation stands first among all kinds of charity which human beings do. He also congratulated all the blood donors who were present on the occasion in the auditorium and appraised their good intention.

The blood donation started soon after the stage programme and a total number of 68 students donated blood. Praveen Kumar the coordinator of Indian Red Cross Society Dakshina Kannada and the Youth Red Cross Society Milagres College convenor Joel Pereira were present during the occasion. Florida the YRC volunteer hosted the programme.
