Court summons Kejriwal, 3 others in defamation case

New Delhi Jul 24 (IANS): A Delhi court on Tuesday summoned Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and three other AAP leaders as accused in a defamation complaint filed by BJP leader Karan Singh Tanwar.

Special judge Samar Vishal has summoned Kejriwal and AAP leaders Amanatullah Khan, Dilip Pandey and Surendra Kumar for commission of offence of defamation under section 500 of the Indian Penal Code.

The court has asked the AAP chief and other three to appear before it on August 7.

Tanwar has filed a case against the AAP leaders alleging that they have accused him of being involved in the murder of an NDMC offical M.M. Khan who was shot dead in 2016.

The BJP leader has alleged that the CM along with others has "maligned his image and ruined his political career."
