Mangaluru: Milagres PU College inaugurates NSS unit

Mangaluru, Jul 24: Milagres PU College, Hampankatta here, recently inaugurated its NSS unit for the academic year 2019-20.

Around 120 NSS volunteers from 1st and 2nd PUC registered for this academic year.

NSS programme officer Kiran D'Souza, lecturer in English, welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest, Everest Rodrigues, Physical Education director at Government First Grade College, Uppinangady.

The chief guest then inaugurated the NSS unit by watering a plant.



In his inaugural speech he gave an insight about the various activities to be conducted through NSS and added that an NSS volunteer cannot do all that the world needs, but in service of others the world needs all the good that NSS volunteer does, with live instances from his experience in NSS he proved the same.

The principal John Pais read the oath and addressed the gathering by saying that students should work with one theme in mind namely, 'Not I, but you'.

The function was compered by Shivaleela and Abdul Najeeb proposed the vote of thanks.
