New Delhi, Jul 25: Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Azam Khan’s sexist remark on BJP MP Rama Devi, who was officiating the proceedings, led to angry reactions from the members of the House on Thursday.
Khan was speaking during the debate on Triple Talaq bill when the BJP MP was conducting the proceedings in the House, asked Khan to ignore interruptions by other members and speak to the chair and Khan said, "Aapki aankhon mein aankhein daalke baat karne ka man karta ha [Feel like speaking to you while looking into your eyes]".
MP Rama Devi objected to Azam Khan’s remark and said “this is not the way to speak.” However, Khan replied “you are like my sister.”

Other members of the Lok Sabha demanded an apology from Khan. However, Akhilesh Yadav came to Azam Khan’s rescue claiming that the BJP was the most ‘indecent’ party in terms of the language they use in Parliament.
Azam Khan refused to apologise and said he was ready to tender his resignation if he said anything that was unparliamentary. Later, Khan, along with Akhilesh Yadav, walked out of the House.
