Prayagraj police question church officials in Agra


Agra, Jul 26 (IANS): A team of investigators from Prayagraj on Thursday questioned some church officials of the Bhishop House located in the premises of St Paul's Church School.

The police team went to the Bishop House to meet bishop Prem Prakash Haavil and his secretary but both were not there.

Officials at the local Hari Parbat police station said the Prayagraj police team had come to collect papers relating to an alleged land scam said to be worth several hundred crores of Rupees.

A case is already registered with the civil lines police station on the basis of a complaint filed by half a dozen people.

An official of the diocese said the police team had been given relevant documents that cleared our position.
