Bahrain: ‘Nee Kunidaga’ Participants Sway Crowd and Judges Alike

Bahrain, Jun 8: Bahrain Kannada Sangha celebrated their annual dance competition for their members “Nee Kunidaga 2009” at Karnataka Social Club auditorium.

The programme started at 9.00 pm. Anil Bassagi, general secretary welcomed around 500 audiences and Vijay Satya Narayana with her prayer song started the programme with pomp and eye-catching style. There were all together 34 participants in five categories.

It was quite tough time for the judges to select the best, as the participants attired in best of the costumes, exhibited their talents to the great joy of the august gathering.

At the end of the competition the results were announced which are as follows:

4-6 years:   I-M. Sadia Shaqfei, II -Diya Girish, III-Aysuh Shivkumar

6-9 years:   I- Tanya Girish, II – Safia Gani, III – Sana Sharif

9-13 years:  I-Samiksha,   II -Salma Simeen, III -Dimple Shetty

13-18 Years:  I- Talshak Pai,   II- Sharadha Ragupathi

Adults:  I- Santosh Shetty, II- Rajesh Shetigar, III – Nagaraj Roa

Group (only two):

Children:  I-Samiska & Salma S, II-Takshak & Sharaddha

Adults: I-Rajesh Shettigar & Bhaskar Acharya,  II –Jadgish & Poorina J

The entire programme was compered by Sumagala Rajaram, she was then a resident of Bahrain studied in Indian school – Bahrain and now she is working for Infosy’s in United States. She was on her holidays with her parents in Bahrain.  President Austin Santhosh and rest of the committee members gave away the prizes for all the winners, and at the end, Doomanna Rai proposed vote of thanks.

    Bahrain Kannada Sangha rocks....Its indeed a big platform especially for Indians to bring out the culture & Traditions through their performances...Keep going....
