Lucknow, Jul 27: A police SWAT team of five members in Uttar Pradesh got transferred for flaunting their official guns through a Facebook video. The video was posted by a police inspector, who heads the special operations group in UP's Basti, on his Facebook profile.

The video, with a Haryanvi background song, shows the SWAT team of five members walking in slow motion by flashing their guns.

The UP police, on their Twitter page, reacted to the two minute video and said "unprofessional display of weapons".

"Regarding a viral video of SWAT team of Basti Police, DGP UP OP Singh has directed SP Basti to transfer the entire SWAT team to police lines and get the matter enquired by CO city. We do not sanction unprofessional display of weapons and grotesque caricaturing of Police," the UP police tweeted.

The video has been shared widely by many with much speculation since the Yogi Adityanath government is already under severe criticism from the opposition over the encounters by the UP police, in which at least 100 people have been killed.
