Cow dung used to purify PWD premises where Dalit MLA protested

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 29: Geetha Gopi, a Dalit CPI MLA, accused Youth Congress activists of using cow dung to purify a PWD office premise, where she protested on Saturday in Kerala's Thrissur district. She alleged that Youth Congress activists have been subjecting to caste discrimination.

CPI MLA from Nattika constituency, Geetha Gopi had protested infront of the PWD office in her constituancy to raise awareness against the poor condition of roads in the area. She resumed her protest after the officers assured her that proper action will be taken on the matter.

The Youth Congress activist came to the premises after she left and staged a march against the Dalit MLA and sprayed cow dung mixed water to purify the place, where she protested.

Geetha Gopi later said she is planning to discuss the matter with Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

An FIR has been launched on the matter based on the MLA's complaint under provisions of SC/ST Act.
