School teacher shot at in north Delhi

New Delhi, Jul 30 (IANS): A 50-year-old government school teacher was shot at in Rohini, police said on Monday.

The victim, Mahavir Singh, was playing cards with four others when he was shot on Sunday.

"A man fired at Singh and fled the spot. The victim received a bullet injury on his shoulder and is undergoing treatment," said S.D. Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini).

"We suspect that the accused might have come there to target another person, as five men were present at the time of the incident, and mistakenly shot at Singh. We have identified the accused and teams have been formed to nab him," said Mishra.
